Harm Reduction Resources and Opportunities

In 2021, Massachusetts reached settlement agreements with several pharmaceutical companies regarding their role in the overdose epidemic. The Commonwealth decided to allocate 40% of these settlement funds to communities annually between now and 2038 to strengthen opioid response, recovery, and prevention measures.
Objectives:
- Learn what harm reduction is and how it shows up in the State Subdivision Agreement
- Hear about existing harm reduction resources in MA
- Brainstorm how municipalities may use abatement dollars to supplement these resources
